Drive Thru Coffee: Panera Bread Dark Roast Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee. We are on the road right now going to New Smyrna Beach. But we just stopped at Panera Bread and and got some dark roast coffee. Just regular coffee. None of the specialty drinks that they have. And so, J, what’s your opinion? The smell of it, for me anyway, is I kind of smell boiled peanuts. If anybody’s familiar with what boiled peanuts smell like. Yeah. That’s what I smell. That’s not a pleasant smell. The taste is okay, I think maybe, kind of woody/wood-like to me. Perhaps earthy, something like that. Yeah I thought it was bitter and maybe that’s part of like what kind of creamer they use. I don’t know if they’re using half and half like I’m used to or what, but it was kind of bitter, not very… I don’t know. Just not pleasant. Like actually I kind of got used to it. I’m like almost done. Yeah, I can drink it, but it’s not it’s not like some of the other coffees where it’s like okay, I don’t want to drink anymore. Yeah, and so we paid. But they were, it was $2.50, I think. Yeah well two dollars each. For this. Two dollars each. So I mean four bucks, two cups of coffee. I don’t know like would we buy it again? If we were out and about? No. The only reason we went there, one was to try it but also we had gift cards. Yeah. So overall, nah. Yeah, pass. Pass for this time.

Publix Dark Roast Coffee Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Hey! Welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee your average Joe coffee reviews. Where we’re average but sometimes the Joe is too. But some of its good and some of it’s less than average. But we’ll find out today. Right. What we’re reviewing and what do we think of it? Right so today we have Publix premium ground dark roast coffee. It’s a pretty bag. Yeah. Yeah, is it Arabica? I think it’s probably Arabica. Yeah, Arabica coffee. Yes and so it’s a dark roast obviously. It’s very uh. The packaging’s nice. Mm-hmm. Looks intense. Right. And royal. So I’m expecting a bold flavor. We shall see. We’ve never tasted this before. Yeah never. This is the first time so we’ll see. Okay. Bottom’s up. Well, sniffers up. Oh yeah, smell it first. I just don’t get much of a, like I can’t really smell. Do you smell anything? I smell something. Alright well time to drink. It’s not bad. I’m gonna have to drink more of this because the first time we had Publix coffee like the other brand that we did like it tasted at first and then as you get further into the cup it’s just kind of really beany but Yeah, like it’s just not very, it’s not bold. Certainly I wouldn’t say. Would you say? I like it better than the house blend. I think because there’s less flavor. Right? Oh, oh, yeah that beany. It’s coming back? That beany taste is start yet it’s like it’s weird like halfway into the cup it’s like what is that taste and then it just gets more and more pronounced over time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah so overall uh this it’s not as bad to me. So far. Yeah, than the other brand. Yeah the house blend for Publix was more bean like. So this is an improvement. Yeah sorry, this bag we bought buy one get one free, so we got one house blend and one dark roast at that price it was four dollars a bag. Yeah. The original regular price is eight dollars a bag which is too much for a 12-ounce bag. Yeah you can get a twelve ounce bag of something better for eight dollars for sure and then even at four dollars a bag it’s you know I think I might buy a $4 big canister of Folgers or something. Why would you do that? Well I don’t want to buy that anyway. But I mean yeah if I’m gonna spend $4 might as well get more coffee, I mean it’s gonna taste, just kind of , yeah. So would we buy it again? No. But Publix is a good company otherwise, but you know they got some good grocery stores. But that’s what they’re in the business to do sell groceries not necessarily produce coffee but I guess they have to have a store brand just the kind of people are gonna buy it so they’ll make money on it but it’s subpar in our opinion to the stuff that we normally drink and even other coffees of the same price for sure. Right. It’s not as good. Right, yeah I agree. Sweetwater Organic Coffee Ethiopia Sidama Viennese Roast Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Hey! Welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee! It’s time for your average Joe coffee review. Today, what are we drinking? We are drinking Sweet Water Organic Ethiopia Sidama Coffee. Here it is. The Viennese roast which is a medium dark roast. Yeah. It’s at a nice silvery aluminum foil bag. Yes. This is a local roaster, they’re out of Gainesville Florida. And so small specialty coffee it’s what we would call this. That’s right, yeah. Micro Microroaster. Micro batches. Yeah, there we go. But we’ll go over that in a second. Yeah. Before the coffee, before the coffee gets cold, right? Mmm. Smells good. And in full disclosure we have had this before we bought it last week, but we’ll tell you what we think. So overall I like the coffee. Yes. It was, the first time we drank it it was like there was a there was a taste there that I wasn’t really sure what what it was. Right? Like and we were trying to figure it out, like what is the thing, and you said, “Fruity?” Yeah I thought it was kind of fruity, but. And yeah I thought yeah I don’t know, but then the more I tasted it I thought it kind of tastes like blueberries, and even the smell of the grounds I think is really I can see it seems to me that I can smell blueberry. And then I looked it up and according to my research that is the thing that Ethiopian coffees are known for. This is like grown really in like high altitude and in shade. So apparently it lends you know some sort of fruity taste to it. Well I certainly could taste blueberry. Mm-hmm. That’s for sure. Yeah. It’s an enjoyable cup of coffee. Like we, like you said we’ve had it several times now and to me the whole way down it’s good. Like yeah you know with some coffee. All the way to the bottom of the cup. Yeah. She doesn’t mean like you taste it here, you taste it here, then you taste it in your belly. Yeah, that’s not what I was intending. All the way through the cup it tastes good. Yeah. Yeah, it’s just enjoyable the whole way through nice and complex. And so then there’s a couple of cool things about the company that roasts it. So obviously they get this coffee from Ethiopia and this is Fairtrade coffee which means that there are agreements in place with the the actual farmers who are growing this so that they will be treated fairly. There’s a lot of transparency there so it seemed pretty positive all the research I did on this company and so… It says you can go on their website and see their Fairtrade documentation that they have you just go there to swocoffee.com or sweetwaterorganiccoffee.com and then click on current coffee lots under the trading partners tab and you can find out all their current trade information. And they also, let’s see how can you get the coffee? Right, yeah. Well we got ours at a local farmers market. Mm-hmm. So that’s one way if you live down here in Florida like we do. But. Yeah. You can also order it on their website so it was actually slightly cheaper on their website I mean I don’t know about with shipping but we got ours for $13 for was that a pound? The full pound was $13 but it was a little slightly cheaper I think on the website when I checked it. So yeah. Which to get which to give you an idea, that’s more expensive than what we normally spend on coffee. So just because we normally don’t buy yeah artisan coffee. Right. But this is very good. Yeah. It’s really really good. I think it’s like 12 something on the website and so yeah I think overall I would buy it again. Would you buy it again? Uh huh. Yeah. Yeah, I think even at 13 dollars I wouldn’t buy it every week, that wouldn’t be our weekly coffee. Right. We try to find sales, but um yeah overall yes. Good cup. Publix Premium House Blend Coffee Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Hey! Welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee, your average Joe coffee review location destination. Right? So, Kayla, what are we tasting today? Today we are tasting Publix brand, the premium Publix brand, ground House Blend. House Blend. The House blend. Yes, there we go. It’s Arabica. Right? Yes. And so without further ado. 12 ounce bag. Everybody knows Publix. Yeah. There’s a plethora here in Florida. So, here we go. Yeah, the smell. You know, the smell, usually, that’s one of the most enjoyable parts of coffee to me. Yeah. Is the smell, and this one’s just…It kinda smells like wet cardboard. Yeah. A little bit right? Yeah. Yeah, actually that’s a good way. So okay, taste. And you know. We’ve tasted this one before. This isn’t just like the first time we’ve tasted it. And the first time we really tasted it was when we were eating breakfast. Right? Yeah. And actually…It was a salty breakfast, so it was like, tater tots and bacon, eggs. Turkey bacon. Turkey bacon and eggs. So it was a salty breakfast. And we both thought. Yeah, pretty good. Yeah, I didn’t have really have any complaints. It was just kind of, because I think the breakfast was so strongly flavored, the coffee was just this kind of, I just didn’t taste the coffee very much. It seemed enjoyable. However. Then we had a second cup. Right. After breakfast. Right. We normally have 3 cups every day. So the second cup though, it was just…It got…It didn’t taste good. Right. On its own. And then. As you went down the mug, it got worse. We determined that the taste is like, bean. Yeah, beany. Like a navy bean, type. Yeah. Yeah. That’s why I’m not drinking anymore. There are coffees that have like a, there are different things you can pick up on, and one of the things that we both picked up on was this beany. So it doesn’t mean that this is a bad cup of coffee, it just means that it is beany tasting. If you like bean flavored coffee, then yes. Yeah. And some people do! Yeah. So, let’s see. So, the company is Publix. We all know Publix grocery stores, and so they’re not in the coffee making business. No. They’re just kind of, “We’re gonna have this on the shelf for somebody who wants a lower priced something.” But, it was, I bought it buy one get one free. So it ended up being $4 a bag. So it’s normally $8 a bag, which is expensive. Yeah, that’s a lot of money to spend on some coffee. You can buy a better quality coffee for $8 a bag. Oh sure. Lavazza. Hello? Yeah. Easily. Yeah. So, even for $4 a bag, would I buy it again? Nah. I don’t think so. Publix is a good company, they make some good stuff, but. And to be fair, it might just be this blend, that we don’t like. That’s true. It’s I think more of a medium blend, and I tend to like dark, but. We do have a dark roast that we’ll review, if you haven’t seen that already. Look for it. So yeah. This one? Pass. Yeah pass. Yeah, not necessarily a thumbs down. For us, it’s a pass. But if you like bean flavored coffee, this is the one to pick up. Until next time. Alright, see you later. Happy drinking.
