Seattle's Best Coffee 6th Ave Bistro Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to coffee coffee coffee your place for average Joe coffee reviews. I’m average she’s Joe. So Joe what are we reviewing today? Okay today we’re reviewing Seattle’s Best 6th Avenue Bistro Number Four which is a dark roast bold and roasty. Mmmm bold and roasty. And so this is slightly different from the other review that we did. Remember it was like a it was a number four it was also like a medium dark roast. They’ve changed their branding so this one is also slightly different but they’ve also changed their branding so you’re going to start to see like the 6th Avenue Bistro and there’s like a couple of different ones, but the other one we had was Fairtrade certified and this one is not and so and there is a difference. And the other one was organic. Right. And this is not. Right. So will there be a difference in the taste? As far as price goes, this one was cheaper. We got it at Walmart for on walmart.com for like four something. Yeah yeah I think it was about the same price. A negligible difference. $4.50. If you wanna be a spendthrift, sure. Anyway okay so we we took we took some advice from a viewer watcher listener I don’t know how he consumes the content, and he said that we should not discuss the coffees beforehand. We do drink them beforehand because that we’ve talked about before is we want to drink a whole cup so that we can get the whole flavor and everything of it so we can tell you what we think about it, but we have not discussed this coffee with each other. We didn’t say like oh I like it or I don’t. Nothing at all. No no discussion has taken place so we’ll find out now. Yes. On this episode of coffee coffee coffee! So are you gonna drink it or are you gonna yack? Yep yes I like to yack. Don’t say yack anymore. Okay so overall well I want to know your impression because I mean I’m very opinionated. Pass. Pass? Really okay. In the other one I thought the other Seattle’s Best was better. Yeah I I agree with that. What did you find different? Because there was a particular thing that I thought and I wondered if it was just me or not. What was it? Uh flavor. Well okay but specifically to me it was slightly more bitter. Like it was just a bitter kind of flavor and I didn’t get that on the other bag so maybe it’s the organic thing. Maybe. Maybe or fair trade. Maybe fair deals make the coffee sweeter. Yeah I don’t know. I don’t know what did it either, but the other coffee was better tasting in my opinion. This one is a more bitter. Yeah yeah. Bitter mas. Yeah yeah bitter what? Mas. Uh okay yeah but yeah so this is still a 100% Arabica and it’s a medium dark. It says on here dark but before it’s said medium dark. Anyway. Yeah. Overall I don’t think I would buy it again I would go for the the organic Fairtrade. Yeah. Which is not typical of us. Right well. I mean, not that we don’t care… We don’t… About the environment. We don’t go one way or the other as far as organic Fairtrade whatever typically is least expensive and still tastes good. So if it happens to be organic and fair trade and that actually means something and the farmers are being treated fairly then fantastic. Right yeah. Happy to support them on a product that tastes better. Right but you also want to like because sometimes I think there’s probably reasons why things aren’t fair trade certified. There probably is more cost involved and so it could hurt farmers still if you don’t buy like if you don’t buy it on purpose it could maybe still hurt the farmers. Right. You know what I mean? Am I making sense? Or dollars. Okay well I think that does it for this coffee review. Was there well was there any sort of flavor? Yeah I felt like it was very very similar to the other one so it was kind of it was a nice like rich flavor I felt, but it was just there was just a bitterness that I just didn’t… Yeah. I mean it was certainly like if I if somebody bought it for us or like if we bought it on accident or something then I wouldn’t be mad. Like there are some other roasts where I’ve been like oh I do not want to drink the rest of this cup. Yeah if somebody shows up to our house with a bag of Publix House Blend or Dark Roast, we’re kicking them out. They’re never allowed to come back because obviously they’re not consuming our content and know that we will not consume Publix coffee. Well that was pretty strongly worded but… So was that coffee’s nasty flavor. Well yeah except for it might have just been those roasts. We still have a few more that we have to yep sorry it’s going to happen. Okay. Terrible. New England Breakfast Blend Coffee Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Hey welcome to coffee coffee coffee your place for average Joe coffee reviews. Today is a beautiful. Yes it is. Just like you. Oh thanks um. So what’s today’s review? Yeah we’re going to review the New England Coffee New England Breakfast Blend and it’s they say it’s our wake me up blend. So that’s all they kind of give you. They don’t really tell you what it should taste like and when it said wake me up blend, I was expecting like bold and kind of slap you in the face like get you up in bed get you out of bed not get you up in bed. Right maybe it’s a lot of coffee or caffeine but right not so much bold flavor. Right yeah so this morning was the first time I tasted it and well… you want to taste it and then we’ll we’ll get into how we thought about it. Sure. We’ll also point out that the well after we drink. Yeah. Mmm I just burned my tongue. Okay so what were your thoughts? I was going to first point out that the grounds are not as fine as a lot of the other coffee that we’ve been. You hear that? Probably not. But it sounds like a light maraca. Right. As opposed to I can’t hear anything when I shake the bag. It has a good smell. Yeah. Good smell in the bag. Um. Cup’s hot! Yeah so what I’ll say is it’s…I don’t want to say bland, I’m gonna say bland like it’s not um I don’t know I couldn’t really pick up any taste. Yeah. Of anything like there’s no it’s not offensive. Umm-hmm I wasn’t like don’t talk that way to me, coffee. Right, but I will say this to give you an idea I could drink this black and that’s not something I can do with really any coffee like normally coffee tastes too bitter to me, but I enjoy my coffee with cream like there are some people that are like I don’t know they feel bad if they put stuff in their coffee I think it’s fine but um and I prefer cream in my coffee but this one I was just kind of like it’s it’s so unobtrusive I can just drink nothing in it.. It’s kind of like unsweetened tea like um which I enjoy now but but I had to start drinking you know less and less sugar and now I can drink it unsweet and I enjoy it unsweetened and coffees the same way I can drink it unsweetened this I could actually drink without the cream. So I feel like it’s you know like if you’re trying to drink it black like if that’s part of your goal in life. Might be a good one. Maybe this type of thing like a light blend yeah. I like my tea with syrup. Okay how much did this cost though? That was.. That’s the big question. That was one that we actually ordered on walmart.com and included it with other items that we needed which had a bill above $35 and the two day shipping was free. Yeah yeah it came in two days. But it was less than five dollars. Yeah it was like four something for 49 maybe. $4.49 yeah so fairly cheap um would I buy it again? I wouldn’t would you? No cuz we were able to get that other one that we like the Seattle’s Best for the same price. Yes we liked it better. It was still my favorite but yeah this one like I wouldn’t buy it mainly because it’s like I need more I need more. Flavor. I need a I need flavor. Mm-hmm anything else to add on that one? It’s a 100% Arabica but I don’t see anything on here about like you know is it fair trade or you know they’ve been they are a family coffee roaster since 1916 so that’s kind of cool. Yeah one thing I’ll add is we mentioned that it’s not offensive even though it’s from New England J.R.! We love New England people. Yes those that are not in New York and Boston. There are lots of nice people…. I only I only know the people from New England who come to Florida so maybe they’re the ones that are jerks. You have lots of nice people who bought houses from you. He’s just joking. No , New Jersey’s not New England. Oh well anyways people are very nice all over the world. Yes we’re going to get hate mail. I know. I’m just kidding. Seattle's Best Signature Blend No 4 Coffee (now 6th Ave Bistro Fair Trade/Organic)Review

Your place for average Joe coffee reviews. Today is a wonderful day because we have coffee. Yeah. And we are reviewing a new coffee. A cheap coffee too. Cheap coffee. Seattle’s Best Coffee and it’s a it’s a medium dark rich roast. It’s a level four. So signature blend number four. You have to be careful because I saw a Walmart one that was cheaper but it is a different blend. It’s like a bistro blend or something so be sure that you know like if you’re wanting to try this one it’s this particular one. And so it’s cheap like we said like 549 is what I paid at Publix and I found it at Sam’s online for 1098 for a two pound bag so that’s super duper cheap. 550 a pound. Yeah that’s the cheapest that we have reviewed so far. Yeah. But is it good? Yeah because really if this is cheap and horrible what difference does it make? Right. So so are we gonna drink it? Yes. Okay I didn’t know. Maybe I jumped the gun. No Okay. I just want coffee so. Oh yeah and so it’s supposed to have a chocolaty note it’s you know bold. It’s a darker blend which I tend to like so. I will say I really enjoyed this coffee. Like it is a good cup of coffee. I do get the hints of chocolate that they’re talking about. I don’t really get any bitterness no like weird off flavors. It is just a good cup of coffee to me. Yeah. Yeah it works throughout it. Yeah I really like it I think especially for the money it’s like that’s a no-brainer. We would buy it again and again. Right I think it might well for now like if I was just in the store and I needed cheap coffee… this is what I’m getting’. So a little bit about Seattle’s Best Coffee.. Did you know that they started as a ice cream and coffee shop? mm-hmm And it was called the Wet Whisker, but…Meow.. Okay. Probably it was a whisk. Yeah but Wet Whisker you would think ….. It rains in Seattle a lot so maybe the guy who owned it. Had a mustache… No I mean he was the whisker and he was always wet because maybe he had to make the stuff outside in the rain. I think that’s a convoluted story that you just made up. I don’t know what convoluted means. Oh and I forgot to mention this is fair trade and organic. Yeah. Which is like I’m just really impressed with this coffee, I’ve just gotta say. And, uh, Seattle’s best is owned by Starbucks. Yeah a wholly owned subsidiary. Do they does Starbucks roast their coffee? Because… I don’t know what wholly owned subsidiary means. Right can you get the same roast like in a Starbucks bag and how much more does it cost? Are you saying they just label one with Starbucks? Sure. Oh I don’t think that’s what it means. No? I don’t know what it means, but you can do your own research. All I know is that this is a good cup of coffee for cheap. We’re going to buy some stocks in my wholly-owned subsidiary. All right well I think that will do it for this coffee review. Don’t you? Lavazza Kilimanjaro Coffee Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Hey welcome to coffee coffee coffee. Your place for average Joe coffee reviews. Kayla, what are we reviewing today? Ciao a tutti! We are reviewing Lavazza Kilimanjaro single origin Arabica beans from Tanzania. Do you know where Tanzania is? Near Kilimanjaro. And where is that near? Near the mountaintop. What um continent is it on? Asia! No sorry. Africa. I was going to say Africa first and I thought maybe it’s in Southwest Asia or something like that. Yeah there’s there’s a map on the back of this so. See you tricked me. I thought, see my first inclination was Africa, then you tricked me. I don’t think… By acting like I didn’t know and then I thought trick question. Oh I see okay well anyway the point is.. Hey, quick question. Sure. Do you think if there was ever a man named Jaro and he heard Kilimanjaro he might think that that was a command of some sort? I don’t think so. I don’t but anyway… So this coffee is supposed to be crisp and fruity and again we love Lavazza. It’s our current favorite coffee. There’s a there are two particular roasts that we really like. Well Gran Selezionne is the one that we like the most. It’s the green stripe. Yeah and then the espresso roast is something that I really like. But anyway so this is supposed to be crisp and fruity and let’s see that’s pretty much I mean they’ve got a lot of marketing stuff on the back. It’s on a scale of one to ten and I apologize because previously we kind of made fun of their rating system because it was like from a 4 to a 9 but I see now it’s a one to ten and then they only give like a couple of different roasts that they do. Yeah so it’s on a scale of 1 to 10 it’s a 7 so it’s supposed to be really intense or pretty intense I would say it’s like a medium roast. So here we go. Got a good smell. It’s not like amazing like I want to sniff it all up. Right. So what are what are your thoughts? Overall? That I do taste some sort of fruitiness in there. I think earlier I figured that it was like uh apricot or something like that. Yeah. That was what I kind of… The only time I’ve ever had apricot are probably in like a bag of dried fruit. Yeah but I like I don’t know I kind of tasted a little bit of citrusy and there was like one time where I had a sip and I like kind of tastes caramelly. You said smokey at one point. Do you still? Yeah but I was eating bacon. Well that was probably why. So overall though I’m just not a fan of this roast like it’s. Not in comparison to the others. No but I mean just in comparison to stuff. Also there was like a beaniness a little bit not not too bad not too knock my socks off, but I was just like overall I wouldn’t buy again. Yeah. It was. Me either. Lavazza is on the upper range of like store-bought coffee. Yeah. Like if you buy it at Publix it’s like. $12 a pound. Yeah yeah yeah kind of expensive. Not that you can buy it in the pound. No. 12 ounces. Yeah or 10 ounces. I think their Espresso might be 10 ounces. So. Well does that do it for this episode? I think so. Pretty much all I have to say about that. Lavazza Classico Coffee Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Hey welcome to coffee coffee coffee your place for average Joe coffee reviews where the husband is average and has to dress so that he doesn’t feel bad. So beautiful wife what is it that we’re reviewing today? Okay today we’re reviewing Lavazza Classico Medium Roast. Which on a scale of four to nine with four being the least intense and ten being the most intense. It’s Italian so that’s Yeah. Quatro. Dieci. There you go um yeah so it’s not as intense. It’s supposed to be rich and full-bodied and that’s pretty much how they give it they do say that there should be an aroma of dried fruit which. Is there? I don’t know. Which dried fruit. I don’t know. Maybe. Yeah it’s at like a nice… I wouldn’t say that it’s one of those that I just want to go (sniffs) Yeah. You know. But it does have a like I don’t know what kind of dried fruit, but I certainly taste it or smell it. We’re going to get hate mail from the Italians. With my Italian nose. It’s made by… the family name. Did you Know this? The company is like a family owned company and their last name is Lavazza. I always thought it had something to do with volcanoes but shows what I know. From Torino, Italy. Yeah. There you go so we should say our favorite coffee as of right now as far as one you can get in the store is the Gran Selezionne. It’s Lavazza. Yeah yeah but it’s different. It’s the green stripe. Yeah so let’s go ahead and taste it and then we can tell people what we think. Woah, I almost dropped it. Without further arrivederci. Isn’t adieu goodbye in German or something? No that’s French, right? Shows what I know. Shows what we both know. Does it even mean goodbye? Would you drink your coffee? Yes. So overall I think this is a good example of how you can really love a brand of coffee but not really like one of their roasts because I just it’s not that it’s offensive but I’m just like not a fan like I don’t know. I’ve tried really hard because we’ve been drinking it for several days now. I can’t really put my finger on why I don’t like it like it’s not bold enough that’s one thing. I prefer a bolder taste it’s not bold enough for my taste so it kind of leaves me with a..it’s a really high-quality coffee I’m sure, but. Yeah but it’s a four on the scale of four to nine. No. It’s a 5 on the scale of 4 to 9 no 10. Yes, five on the scale of four to nine. Well that’s Italian math for you. Yeah so overall would I buy this again? I would not. No you could probably get the same…for the same price you could get something better. That we like better. Right and the price on this one… what did you get it for at Winn Dixie? Well they were buy one get one free. Originally they are nine dollars for a 12 ounce bag so whatever that works out to be. Per pound. Yeah maybe twelve dollars a pound. Yeah so I think overall if I’m going to pay that much for coffee… like if it’s buy one get one free and that’s the only thing on the shelf oh yeah I’m gonna buy that yeah I’ll buy it for that, but if it’s full price I’m not going to choose that over the other roasts. Is there any sort of flavor that you attribute to it? I think I think earthy might have been one of my initial like kind of impressions and maybe maybe a slight beany-ness but not it’s like it it’s kind of like a there’s it’s not very… there’s no one thing that stands out which was probably why I don’t really enjoy it right kind of like a muddled. But yeah that’s why I dress like this. Oh gosh. So that I stand out and I’m not muddled. Okay well I think that yeah. All right well thanks for joining us again for another average Joe coffee review. Gevalia Kaffe Majestic Roast Coffee Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Hey welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee, your place for average Joe coffee reviews. So Kayla vut are ve reviewing todaysins? Ve are reviewing Gevalia Kaffe Majestic Roast. What happened to your accent? I’m sorry. I’m not very good with the Swedish Accent. I thought you from Sweden. You’re not from Sweden? I’m not. Bork. Bork. Bork. Which I’ve already done in the other review. Okay so we are looking at the Majestic Roast. Yeah okay this is a bold and not even dark so it’s darker it’s bolder than the dark ground coffee roast from Gevalia. Bold. Right. Powerful. So, they make it in Sweden. They’ve been making coffee for 150 years. Now it’s not grown in Sweden. No. It doesn’t really say where it’s grown. When did they make this bag? We don’t know. I uh best before March of next year. Oh all right it promises that it’s never bitter and it’s supposed to have a bold earthy flavor. So there we go. So I guess we’ll find out which plant it tastes like. Now let’s smell test for me. Like. It’s got a really good smell like not all coffee does. Not like some of the cheaper stuff it’s like yuk. Yeah. But this is good and price wise this was? $5.99. So and that one you can smell when it’s brewing right? Yeah yeah yeah you actually do get a whiff of it like right now though like I don’t really smell it in the cup. No so some coffees you can smell in the cup. This is not one of those. That’s true. You ready to try it? Yes. Alright here we go. Bottoms up. You tried it before I did. Yeah and we we always try these several times before the actual review. As we’ve explained before we like to get through a whole cup that way yeah we could really tell you what it tastes like all the way through. Yeah yeah just like with the Coke and Pepsi thing. People prefer the taste of Pepsi if you only take one sip. that we’ll know that’s how they did the.. There was a long time ago, there was like a big taste test and it came out that like Pepsi was the one that people preferred but really it’s about drinking the whole can. By and large people love Coca Cola if you drink the whole can but on a one sip it’s Pepsi. So. Pepsi is too sweet. Yeah, I like Pepsi. But anyway. The point is it’s good to drink a whole cup I think. That’s our own I mean we’re not professionals but yeah. Or three or four. Or like a bag. Don’t professionals use a spoon? I don’t know. We’re not… Kill us if we ever become like that. We’re snobs or anything. Yeah I don’t know how they do that taste testing with a spoonful. Yeah I think I do taste like a chocolaty-ness in this one. Yeah. And it’s kind of bitter I think I mean just a little bit. It’s not horrible but I get a little bit of bitterness. It’s probably our coffee maker. It’s Well, we just cleaned our coffeemaker. That’s true. I would say it’s bold ish. I don’t know. This Oh like bold. Bold Yeah like I don’t know. What do you think? Yeah I mean I don’t feel like it’s gonna jump up and fight me. No. It’s not that bold. But it’s also not the richest flavor I’ve ever tasted in the world. Like…but it’s a solid cup of coffee or liquid. It’s not solid. Well I think that’s enough of this coffee review. Is that good? Yeah what else is in your coffee? Oh would we buy it again? Absolutely. I think so. Uh oh. Dissension in the ranks. Well when you compare this with the house blend…Sorry We’re getting abducted by aliens. That was our Bluetooth speaker. Yeah. When when you compare it to the other Gevalia House Blend that we tasted, we both liked it. I like it better. If that one wasn’t on sale and this one was, then I’d get this one. Yeah it was good. Gevalia House Blend Coffee Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee, your place for average Joe coffee reviews I’m J.R. And I’m Kayla. And Kayla what are we here to do today? We’re gonna review Gevalia Kaffe House Blend. It’s a medium roast. 100% Arabica. Supposed to be a medium bodied smooth coffee. It also says on the back it’s a rich never bitter experience and it should have, according to them some caramel notes and a citrus finish. Ah a caramel covered lime. No not that. No so let us see now we have we have tasted it before but as we’ve said in other videos we like to drink before also so that way we can really taste the whole cup as we go through. Yeah so one thing.. Sorry. I actually did kind of smell a little bit of like chocolate. A little smell of it. That’s not what this bag says. No. They mixed up their bags. So a little bit more about Gevalia. It’s a Swedish company founded in 1853. Borshka Borshka. Bork. Bork. Yeah Swedish Chef. Ah, but this is a part of their heritage blend which is supposed to just be like a better version of your everyday coffee. Or it’s old beans. We got this from the Heritage Collection. That’s in the basement next to all the old shoes. Okay. Dutch factory. All right so what were your thoughts on the coffee? I have my thoughts but I want to know your thoughts. Actually the drink I just took I thought that’s fine. Yeah I like it. We we had not this same blend over at your mom’s and so it’s been a while since we’ve had Gevalia and the first thing I noticed about it was it was a little bit bitter but that’s not necessarily a bad thing I mean bitterness is okay it’s you know not supposed to be really sweet. Um but it’s not overpowering. Right. I felt like um it had almost like a nutty flavor a little bit of the like the chocolaty I like it. Maybe that’s the caramel. Yeah yeah so I don’t get any citrus but I’m just you know I’m just average Joe. So yeah but I think overall it’s a good cup of coffee. How much did we pay for this? $5.99. Yeah $5.99 it was on sale for $5.99 at Winn-Dixie so for a twelve ounce bag. Yeah so overall I would buy this again Yeah it’s good. Yeah good. It’s good drinkable coffee. It’s nice that we both agree on a coffee because sometimes there’s a blend that I really like and you’re like. Yeah well that’s it for this episode of Coffee Coffee Coffee. There you go. Medium roast. 100% Colombian. 100% Arabica coffee. We’re still not quite sure what that is. Right. We’re pretty sure Arabica refers to beans. We’ll make video on that once we find out and let you guys know. The type of beans and then of course Colombia is the location. So this comes from Colombia and according to the packaging is a medium roast and it’s got it’s supposed to be a rich winey and full-bodied flavor. I whined a bit. When we drank this. But oh well let’s go and drink it because I need I need a refresher we have been drinking Gevalia before this so. There will be a review on it. Right. there will be but that’s forth coming so let’s try it. hmm. Here we go. Medium roast. Bottom of the mug to you. So I think overall it’s pretty good like it’s not my favorite anymore. Right. It used to be like really high up on the list. Is it winey? I don’t. It depends on what wine you’re drinking I guess. I don’t get the wine one. Rich? Richer than a lot of other ones that we’ve tried. Full bodied? I’m not sure what that means. Yeah yeah but I don’t know that I would say that. But rich? I think it’s got a rich rich kind of flavor. it’s an enjoyable cup. I mean I if I found it on sale would we buy it again? I think this one maybe the Colombian yeah perhaps. And this one says one to two tablespoons per six fluid ounces. Right. it is one right now because if you do two obviously you’re paying double. For the same cup of coffee. Yeah yeah and this was on sale for $6.99? $5.99 No no no. That was for something else. This was $6.99. For twelve ounces. Oh no 11 ounces. See that’s something we have really noticed is you you may think you’re getting a 12 ounce bag and you’re only getting a 10 ounce or 11 ounce or so you have to pay attention to that. Where as is the more expensive coffee that we bought it was a whole pound which is a lot more so you have to be careful with your math. But it was still more per pound and on our website at CoffeeCoffeeCoffeeShow.com go to the Coffee Table and you can see all the coffees that we have reviewed, the price per pound to make it easy for you to know which one is the price per pound instead of trying to do the math about ounces and everything. And then also other information about them like this one is Rainforest Alliance certified but did you read it was fifty percent certified. So 50% of these grounds come from the certified coffee and then fifty percent is not so I guess they I guess is probably if I had to guess more expensive to get it certified there’s..so to keep the cost down and to be able to put this label on there they put you know fifty percent certified in the rest so I mean you know does that mean anything? Rainforest Alliance certified? Right. I mean it sounds good. It’s probably on farms that well it says 50 percent of the coffee was grown on Rainforest Alliance certified farms. So there you go. Which means probably they recycle their water for irrigation and stuff like that. Yeah. That would be my guess, but there will be a video on that. Yeah. It’s not live yet. Look for it later. So anything else you want to say about it? Is there a there’s no real flavor that I can say like you know we’ve talked about ones that have a blueberry flavor or bean but this just kind of it just says coffee. Yeah. I think that’s what I think. There’s not like a yeah not a chocolatey.. really not a yeah it’s just. I don’t know about wine. Just it’s a cup of coffee. Yeah. All right? Eight O'Clock African Plains Coffee Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee this is the place for your average Joe coffee reviews right? Right. Yeah. Average. Yes. Joe. But is today’s Joe average? We’ll find out. But what are we trying today? Today is 8 o’clock coffee. It’s the African plains light, floral and well balanced ground coffee that we picked up at Winn-Dixie. Right. Which is a grocery store in the South. Maybe other places too, I don’t really know. I have no idea. Does it really matter? I don’t remember them being out in California. That’s true. It’s a southern thing. See we’re sophisticated. We lived in California. You’re gonna spill that on yourself. I am. Alright so we’re going to give this a try. It’s African Plains it’s from Ethiopia. We’ll see how it compares to the other Ethiopian coffee that we have reviewed to this date. Right. I’ve already tasted a sip because I was afraid I was going to spill it on myself. Just a sip. We’ve had it before. Well we wanted to give it a like a fair shake because we we just finished that bag of really good stuff from Sweetwater Organic Coffee Roasters. So here we go. So we’ve been drinking it and and the thing is right you might think why don’t you drink it for the first time right then? You don’t really taste everything that first time sometimes you have to go through a thing and you don’t want to sit here for 20 minutes watching us drink a whole cup of coffee. The would be so boring. That would be almost as boring as this first three minutes has been. What we found is that it doesn’t have the blueberry flavor that the Sweetwater Organic’s has and that this bag says that it has. Yeah I couldn’t even smell it. Tangy citrus flavors and subtle hints of blueberry. No. I’m not picking up any blueberry. Yeah. Not like the other one which we accidentally picked up. Yeah. Now this one. Did you use.. How did you brew it? Did you do the one or the two? Spoonfuls. Now the bag calls for one to two tablespoons of grounds. On this, I did one. Tablespoon. It’s a little better with two. Yeah but you know like when we first started drinking it I wasn’t that like I really disliked it actually and then we switched over to doing two spoonfuls and that helped. Yeah it made it better and then now that this just has the one I feel like I’m more used to it and so it’s like I’m used to it now certainly a step down from the more specialty coffee. Right. It’s not horrible but price-wise it’s not much of a step down. Now from Sweetwater Organic’s that’s $13 a pound this even though we got this one buy one get one free the regular price is $10 a pound. Yeah. So you know I our current favorite coffee is only $11 a pound so we go with that one which is Lavazza Gran Selezionne. It’s good chocolaty Italian coffee, but this is it’s okay if you do for us the two tablespoonfuls full. Yeah and even with the one I would say now like I wouldn’t be horribly disappointed. It’s not like the Publix was. No no better than Publix. This is. I was just thinking about this. Eight O’ Clock Coffee was really the first kind of like treat coffee we bought ourselves. Like we were drinking Folger’s a long like a long time ago and it was like well let’s try Eight O’Clock or like maybe your mom had bought it and then it became like a treat and now that’s kind of like ehh. Because we’ve had other ones. Yeah That we think are better tasting. So as you try other coffees you may find things like that you really do start to notice differences. But I really want to like the cheaper stuff because I’m a cheapskate so. Yeah. I want to. That’s that’s one of the purposes of these reviews is to find what’s going to taste good for us that costs the least instead of well we like this one. Yeah but if we try a bunch then we’ll find out for sure what do we really prefer and what does that cost us. Yeah so overall would we buy this particular roast again? Nah. Not at that price. No. I don’t even know. I don’t think I would I mean not not this blend. Right. It’s a light blend. Yeah now if I’m at the store and I’m looking for a coffee and there’s the choice of the buy one get one free with this or the Publix brand I’ll get this one. Yeah. For sure. Over Publix. Yeah yeah. Drive Thru Coffee: Panera Bread Dark Roast Review
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee. We are on the road right now going to New Smyrna Beach. But we just stopped at Panera Bread and and got some dark roast coffee. Just regular coffee. None of the specialty drinks that they have. And so, J, what’s your opinion? The smell of it, for me anyway, is I kind of smell boiled peanuts. If anybody’s familiar with what boiled peanuts smell like. Yeah. That’s what I smell. That’s not a pleasant smell. The taste is okay, I think maybe, kind of woody/wood-like to me. Perhaps earthy, something like that. Yeah I thought it was bitter and maybe that’s part of like what kind of creamer they use. I don’t know if they’re using half and half like I’m used to or what, but it was kind of bitter, not very… I don’t know. Just not pleasant. Like actually I kind of got used to it. I’m like almost done. Yeah, I can drink it, but it’s not it’s not like some of the other coffees where it’s like okay, I don’t want to drink anymore. Yeah, and so we paid. But they were, it was $2.50, I think. Yeah well two dollars each. For this. Two dollars each. So I mean four bucks, two cups of coffee. I don’t know like would we buy it again? If we were out and about? No. The only reason we went there, one was to try it but also we had gift cards. Yeah. So overall, nah. Yeah, pass. Pass for this time.
