Dunkin Donuts Dunkin Dark Roast Review

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: hey welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee your place for average Joe coffee reviews I just kind of noticed that I don’t like this chair especially for these yeah videos–they’re kind of reclined– maybe too relaxed for people– well it doesn’t even feel relaxed I feel tense I feel tense too now so to get over our tensitive-ness we are reviewing the coffee yes and what is it it is Dunkin Donuts Dunkin Dark which is their dark roast simple as that it’s so easy nothing to explain like the last one with that weird Turbo espresso shot thing–right yeah yeah but so tell us anything that you found out about Dunkin Donuts coffee or prices well first of all we should tell the price in case people don’t watch the other review I don’t remember yeah it was $6.49 for this 11 ounce bag and which comes out to nine dollars and forty four cents a pound which is you know on the higher end of things not the cheapest not the most expensive but still we got ours at Publix for that price it was like on a not buy one get one but just like it had some it was just cheaper than normal sale it was right that’s what that’s called it was called a sale yeah and here’s a fun fact about Dunkin Donuts yes they they sell 1.7 billion cups of coffee every year 1.7 billion–that’s a lot of coffee– how many donuts do they sell oh I have no idea I just was interested in that but yeah anyway founded in Quincy Massachusetts birthplace of John Quincy Adams John Adams and John Hancock interesting it’s a suburb suburb saburb of Boston I looked it up because I was curious (in Bostonian accent) Harvard it’s near Harvard Harvard Park you car in Harvard yard yeah that’s right so Dunkies–Dunkies– they don’t sell to a lot of people then they do no no no one point something billion cups of coffee yeah it’s a lot of coffee yeah but there’s 7 billion people and the people who drink coffee drink it every day that’s true but they’re having to compete with Starbucks and they sell a lot of donuts anyway I think they do a fine job but the question is this coffee because this is different than like what they’re selling in the store this is the home brew type of thing so we should try it and then we’ve been drinking it for all week tell you what we think our bags getting low so I have thoughts would you like me to go first or do you want to go first I’ll go first such a gentleman my my favorite thing about this coffee is that the bag is almost empty oh my gosh I’m so sad because I love this coffee–no way– yes I do–oh how are we going to do the table–oh no we’re going to have to make a she recommends he doesn’t recommend –it’s like this is the first never happened I just don’t really oh man I love it it’s probably just my overall mood yeah maybe I’ve been you know the hurricane and everything–yeah still trying to get back to normal–still sleeping on the floor yeah we our mattress it was ruined we had to yeah get a new one finally got it yesterday yeah Tuft and Needle but okay so what do you not like about the coffee cuz I’m stunned still I don’t know I just didn’t like it you just don’t like it well okay well just it doesn’t it wasn’t it was like ah ah I judge it’s hard for me to you know say about uh the flavor of something but I judge whether or not I like a coffee if it’s easy for me to get to the bottom of the bottom and this one is just not easy for me to get to the bottom of the mug sometimes I’m just like–I’m heartbroken–I thought this is gonna be our coffee no I think still the Fourth Avenue Fourth Street something–Bistro?– Seattle’s Best–oh that’s not my favorite no but it was one that we both–for the price–yeah it was $4.50 okay okay so here’s what I love about oh and this is rainforest certified I didn’t realize that Oh 30% of it is the rest of it is not is the devil yeah but no okay so here’s what I love about this coffee first of all I could tell an immediate difference between this coffee and the other coffee like the first day you brought it to me I was like I didn’t say it out loud because we try to keep that secret between us but it was chocolatey it was rich it was delicious buy this coffee it’s so good maybe because I’m older I and your taste buds are kind of kicking the bucket that’s what I’m saying but they’re just kind of because it just tasted kind of like blah yeah I think it’s very rich I don’t know what happened that’s funny because we have agreed on almost everything right I mean yeah but well there you go we will have to update the table with a he would buy it again she would not right and whoever controls the purse strings and you know why they call that purse strings–right–because the woman controls it would you stop it’s not true yeah so anything else to add about this subpar coffee it is delicious and you should buy it immediately it’s totally worth the money I think yeah I mean because it’s you know it’s less than ten dollars a bag so you know–a pound–I mean okay I’m sorry per pound so yeah I think it’s good yeah I recommend it no we’re gonna have to disagree on it and then make an update to the table yep so you’ll see that the table changes if you go back there and you’ll find out what we’ve done differently right and yeah yeah else about it I think that’s it okay well if you have a coffee that I like yeah or will like and thanks for your recommendations we’ve gotten several recommendations on coffee we should try like Chock-Full O’Nuts this one although we’ve tried that a long time but not since we’ve not reviewed it on here and then also there was like a Kicking Horse Coffee and there was one other one do you remember Dead Million something there’s another one but anyway thanks for the suggestions keep them coming because we definitely want to know what you guys want us to try yes and along with your suggestions–he’s going to ask you to send us coffee– yeah we offer you thanks okay okay yeah okay so find us on Facebook Instagram YouTube at Coffee Coffee Coffee Show and on our website at coffeecoffeecoffeeshow.com where you can find that table that we mentioned that has all the coffees that we have reviewed and then like an outline along with them and then we’re gonna add in that new column for he-said she-said yep there you go just pay attention to the he said she said ok good yep happy drinking that doesn’t sound right

Dunkin Donuts Medium Roast Dunkin Turbo Coffee Review

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Hey welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee we’re back I don’t know if you missed us or not but there was a hurricane so we left we did one show in Georgia but then we were without power we were without power after that we were home but we were without power and didn’t really feel like well we couldn’t make coffee we had to go get it well yeah we could have reviewed that coffee but we were tired and it was hard to sleep and I hadn’t showered like well I showered–no blowdryer–I couldn’t blow dry my hair and be beautiful– oh me neither yeah so but anyway we’re back now and we are reviewing this one this is the okay it’s a medium roast Dunkin Donuts coffee Dunkies Dunkies it’s called Dunkin Turbo so it’s supposed to be coffee with a boost of espresso flavor right now what does that mean right because it says a boost of espresso flavor not a boost of espresso okay so I feel like we need to talk about what is espresso exactly do you know there’s no X in it there is not an X and the other thing you should know about espresso because I didn’t even really know I thought I had kind of a grasp but basically espresso is both the beverage and the way that you brew it but it is not a special bean it is not a special roast so basically it’s ground really fine the coffee it’s just coffee just coffee like it could be Arabica coffee a dark roast and it’s the way you make it so it’s like basically high-pressured hot water almost to the point of boiling is like pushed through the coffee and it makes the the espresso and it’s got like a crema so it’s like a like a little bit of a foam and it’s creamier than you know coffee would be so and fun fact didn’t know this either it actually has less caffeine like per serving that like if you had the equivalent amount right something like that than coffee yeah people think that coffee espresso is so much higher in caffeine but it’s really not so what’s the point well because people like the way it tastes right but it has the crema it’s like I had five espressos yeah anyway I thought it was interesting unless Wikipedia was lying Oh Wikipedia is the best place to go to because anybody can put the information there that way you know that it’s the best information right so Michael Scott more more onto the coffee so this is 100% Arabica and like I said it’s a medium roast and it’s supposed to have the boost of espresso flavor which now that we know what espresso is it’s just coffee so it’s kind of a marketing thing I think it’s distributed by the Smucker company JM Smucker I guess they’re all in together so yeah Dunkin Donuts has been around since 1950 started out as a single donut shop so there we go but the question is is it good coffee because this is not cheap no it was on sale for $6.49 for this bag and it’s only an 11 ounce bag and that can fool you because I didn’t even notice that till I got in the car I was like oh this isn’t even a 12 ounce bag so that comes out to $9.44 a pound so not cheap even when it’s on sale yeah so the question is is it good I don’t know let’s try it what yes you do because we’ve had it a couple of times now I wanna know your thoughts before I say my thoughts my thoughts have been that it’s not really offensive but it’s also not really good it’s like um to me it has kind of a like a papery slash musty kind of flavor–I’d go with that– so I’m not a big fan on the flavor with that but then I also think like it’s also kind of just watery tasting to me like it doesn’t have like a yeah just a lot of flavor it’s just kind of like just kind of meh yeah right I wouldn’t buy it again and it calls for a tablespoon and a half per yeah six ounce cup instead of a tablespoon so so not only are you having to spend more you’re also having to use more and we made it both ways how did you make it this time the way that the bag instructs so and even though we’re using more coffee than we normally do we’re still not getting very much flavor so yeah I would not recommend overall me neither yeah it’s kind of disappointing cuz it used to be like one of our like treat coffees when we buy Dunkin Donuts like we get the big bag at Sam’s and we were like it’s like treating ourselves but I don’t know if either the quality has degraded or our tastes have changed well also this is a different one with a espresso blast that’s true yeah that is true so did I say Arabica 100% Arabica beans so bottom line is we would not buy it again yeah and but for future reviews you can reach out to us on Facebook Instagram YouTube look up Coffee Coffee Coffee show and go to our website CoffeeCoffeeCoffeeShow.com and check out the coffee table which has all of our reviews or at least the data from all of our reviews and you can see like how much they cost per pound which ones we would buy again the flavor profiles things like that right if you have any further questions leave us a comment that’s right ciao talk soon CLARIFICATION: Espresso has less caffeine per serving than coffee. In other words, one cup of coffee has more caffeine than one espresso. However, if you were to pour a whole regular coffee cup full of espresso, that would have more caffeine than a regular cup of coffee. Make sense?

Lake 503 Costa Rican Tarrazu Coffee Review

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: hey welcome to coffee coffee coffee this is your place for average Joe coffee reviews and today we have a little addition to our set here this is the map and we are located here no you pointed to the Bahamas I wish we were in the Bahamas right now actually I don’t there’s a hurricane there that would be horrible we are here just north of Orlando Florida yeah which we are waiting for hurricane Irma to see if she’s gonna come this way but that’s enough talk about hurricanes right the only thing we might want to talk about is a hurricane of flavor was that present with this coffee tell us a little bit about the coffee so we were talking about Lake County Florida and that’s where our coffee is actually from well not the beans the beans are from Costa Rica from the Tarrazu region and this is lake 503 coffee and you actually went to school right with the the wife the owner’s names are Bryan and Rebekah Pleitez I just I wanted to pronounce it correctly and so we had heard that they had a coffee company and we were a little bit nervous because they’re like you know we wanted to try it but we thought oh but what if it’s no good and then we you know review it so but so let’s see a little bit more about the coffee it is classified as strictly high grown shg so if you ever see that that’s what that stands for it’s grown it like 5,500 feet of altitude over a mile high yeah I wonder what the cutoff is if it’s a mile and above that is strictly high ground I don’t know we should look that up before we record next time yeah you look it up that’s what Google’s for so um let’s see other things cost $12 for 12 ounces yeah so the most expensive coffee so far reviewed so far yes so um anything else to say it before we try it I’m ready to try that try it let’s tell you what you should think about it that’s not true we just tell you what we think about it love the coffee yeah it’s a very good cup of coffee it is it’s very good from the top to the bottom and it smells really good and actually I just picked up a little bit of cocoa okay I think I have tha yeah yeah like like I’m not a semi-sweet a little less sweet than that but more of a cocoa flavor I don’t know if it’s supposed to be there or not or if I’m just craving cocoa and tasting in my mouth yeah and I think I’ve picked up at over drinking you know a few cups a little bit of citrusy I mean it’s not overpowering and then maybe a little bit of an earthiness yeah yeah it’s really good though yeah whatever it is from the start to the finish it’s a really good cup of coffee like some you know cups you might start out it’s kind of yeah that’s not so good and then at the end it’s like that is better and then sometimes they start out really good and by the end you know it is not that great this is really good the whole way down yeah I like that a lot mm-hmm yeah so would we buy it again yes again yeah and if you’d like to buy it go on Facebook and look up lake 503 coffee that’s all the numbers not written out but right numerals right and you’ll find them that way and you can order straight from there and they also do farmers market for you local people like starting October they’ll be well I mean if you’re watching this at a different time of the year you know you’ll just basically need to visit their Facebook page right and find out where they are because sometimes they’re at the local farmers markets but they do ship right anything else to add on I don’t I think it was just really neat to see and actually meet the roaster like he brought it to our home that was only because he was out he doesn’t normally drive it all the way to your house but it was neat to shake his hand and get to talk to the actual person who roasted it compared that to like getting something in the grocery store and you know you don’t know the story and the of the person who made it it was just neat yeah I agree so if you have any other coffees that you’d like for us to try reach out to u here I won’t ask you to send them to us for free well I might but you can find us on Facebook Instagram YouTube under coffee coffee coffee and also on our website at coffee coffee coffee show dot com where you can find a coffee table that has information about all the reviews we’ve done whether or not we would buy it how much it cost per pound flavors all that good stuff so if you have any questions about that or whatever let us know until then keep grindin we’ll find a good tagline sometimes working on it

Lavazza Gran Aroma Coffee Review

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Hey welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee this is our new set but we also like to call just our couch in our office and multimedia room right I guess there are a few computers in here I guess that qualifies as multimedia yeah and phones books yeah oh that’s right yeah no records but sketch pads anyway that’s true lots of mediums media right that’s the plural right okay but enough about pluralism today we are here reviewing a coffee from Lavazza Lavazza you saw that on the video yes this is the Gran Aroma which is a medium roast it’s a four on the intensity scale that they have from one to ten so low right so it’s not so intense it’s a medium roast it’s supposed to be smooth and aromatic not amoratic I don’t know what that means Amarillo by morning so it’s supposed to be an aromatic blend of 100% Arabica beans floral aroma and a citrusy flavor profile that’s what they say right but what do we taste is it yes yeah this says ideal for the coffee connoisseur the true coffee connoisseur oh that’s not us that’s not us so but yeah let us drink because we’ve had trouble getting this video thing set up and it’s past coffee time so let’s get our drink on so if we seem punchy that’s why mmm you know I treated myself a bit here I went with the heavy whipping cream in the coffee it’s so good you know we’re not even quite sure if sugar made it into mine did I not put sugar yeah I thought I did he usually does the coffee I’m less competent in that arena I’m just loving yes you are that doesn’t mean I’m not loving no big no right that’s how he shows me he loves me yes acts of service that’ my love language yes so this is made in Torino Italy mmm home of the Shroud of Turin that’s right and also the other things I don’t know Gran Torino right I’m sure was that I really I never saw the movie well that wasn’t in Italy it was in like San Francisco What does that have to do with Italy the car was called a Gran Torino oh those are a car I don’t know these things Clint Eastwood oh ok you gotta see it let’s talk about the coffee yes I think that the coffee tastes fine fine that’s it fine that’s all we’re getting from you today fine my my my judging is based on price it’s starting to move that way that’s true yeah cuz I have to think well if everything is relative well no that’s opposite of the way I’m thinking right if everything is if everything’s the same it’s not so if I look at a thing that’s you know nine dollars for 12 ounce bag that’s what twelve thirteen dollars a pound then I think well it’s okay it doesn’t compare to that cheaper coffee right right I mean it does compare like it compares to the cheaper coffee well no sometimes the cheaper coffee is better so I’m like that’s why I say that’s okay okay so you’re saying this is the best coffee you’ve tried and it’s one of the most expensive ones right right and I think I’m my opinion is that it’s I can I think it’s better than most of the stuff that we’ve tasted like I prefer I prefer it taste wise like it’s not my favorite Lavazza Gran Selezione it’s still my favorite although the Intenso I want to try that yeah we haven’t seen that yeah but um I thought it was really good tasty I enjoy it the whole way through like Lavazza is just a solid brand I feel like yeah I mean there were two that we didn’t like though wait what yeah yeah the breakfast Classico oh yeah yeah that’s true Perfetto is still really good though yeah really good yeah so Classico really was the one we didn’t really like yeah but do you taste the citrus-y floral I never got citrusy although since I put cream in mine I wonder if sometimes that kind of masks that did you catch any kind of no thanks gross so are you did you get any citrus notes I think maybe a little bit of okay I was gonna see how long I can do that I don’t know I mean I yeah it’s something citrusy but I don’t I can’t like say yeah that’s kind of orangish or something I almost tasted just a hint of beany-ness just a smidgen I mean it’s it’s not enough to be offensive yeah that’s it that’s in your heavy cream yeah no but I think it’s more in the lighter roasts where I pick up those notes of beany and that’s probably why I prefer the darker chocolatey roasts yeah yeah overall would we buy it again hmm on sale yeah yeah if it was a BOGO boom yeah take it we’ll take it but the way we’re gonna mark it as yes we would buy it again yeah we would buy it again but it would need to be BOGO yeah yes it’s a good quality coffee but for the price you can find other things I think right so is that all that’s all for today’s so if you have any coffees that you’d like to recommend that we try you can reach out to us on Facebook Instagram and Youtube or on our website at coffeecoffeecoffeeshow.com and that’s how you find us on the social media places too we’re new still so it may be a little difficult to find us under Coffee Coffee Coffee but just look and you’ll find our logo which is the bean cup yeah there you go and let us know okay alright talk soon ciao

How much is your coffee habit costing you?

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Coffee Coffee Coffee. Today’s episode is a little bit different because we’re not going to be reviewing a coffee we’re going to talk about how much is coffee costing you. You know we are budget minded people and we’re always curious like how much are we really spending on this that or the other and then coffee because it can be such a wide range of pricing we were kind of curious like how much are we spending on coffee what’s the normal amount to spend and it kind of depends right on you know are you buying bagged or k-cups are you getting it through the drive-through so so we just kind of nerded out on you know taking it down to like we even measured out how much does a coffee way based on our our general scooping and all that so here are the assumptions we started out with just so that you can see you know over the course we tried to keep everything pretty even so we assumed two people because that’s the average number of people in a household that drink coffee three times per day which is also the national average and then we figured you know 30 days a month just to keep it easy math when using a rounded tablespoon which is what we generally use so we don’t level off the tablespoon but we also don’t scoop as much as we can and whatever holds on is in there it’s just you know kind of a rounded tablespoon and that equaled out to about 30 grams of coffee each time because when we you know make coffee and our coffee maker we need two six ounce you know servings for each mug so that ends up being you know twelve ounces per mug of coffee so every time we’re making coffee we’re using 30 grams of coffee so when we multiply that out we end up figuring out that we are basically buying 6 pounds of coffee per month and so but what does that mean for your overall you know price per month that you’re paying so if you’re buying the low end stuff like you know my brother-in-law just found coffee for $2.32 a pound that was a big ol can of Great Value coffee but you could even go all the way up you know in the grocery store brands like Peet’s coffee that the higher end brands or local roasters are usually about $12 a pound so you could end up paying anywhere between about $14 a month to about you know what’s that seventy-two dollars a month so that’s a pretty big variance and so you know it’s just something to be aware of if you’re buying and higher end stuff this is about what you’re paying now k-cups k-cups were pretty interesting because we don’t have one we don’t have a Keurig so we were kind of curious like what do they cost per cup and that kind of thing so the first thing to remember or to notice is that generally speaking K Cups are only about 10 grams of coffee per pod so that was a so basically you’re getting less coffee every cup you know as far as the coffee that you’re using strength-wise than you are if you’re just making your own bag from home so and so if you try to make a you know twelve ounce cup of coffee with just one pod it’s probably going to seem pretty weak but but just for the sake of argument let’s say that you only use one and it’s fine for each mug of coffee each 12 ounce mug you’re still paying like 31 cents per cup and then if you multiply that out so basically your multiplier is gonna be 180 because you know two times three times thirty days a month you’re gonna end up at around 55 to about 120 dollars oops per month and so really you would be better off like if you’re if you’re really wanting the higher quality stuff go ahead and just buy the bag and you know and you can even buy those little adapters and so you could end up using much better coffee to make the k-cups or to make to make it in the Keurig for the you know the same amount of money or even less really you so so that’s something to consider so and then lastly what about drive-throughs well depends on where you go so McDonald’s has $1 coffee which sounds pretty cheap right but if you multiply that out again you’re still gonna be spending you know a hundred and eighty dollars if you get you know both of you get coffee three times a day which not many people are doing you know drive-through coffee that often but something to keep in mind it does add up over time Starbucks on the other hand if you’re spending a you know a $1.95 for that same sized coffee that we’re talking about over here and you’re doing that with two people three times a day then that’s you know a ridiculous amount of money it’s you know it’s basically like 350 bucks for the Starbucks so so yeah so you can end up spending a really wide variety of money depending on what you buy and and how you prepare it so you know you’re really better off to go with the bag you’re always better off to go with the bag and really by a whole lot you know even with the cheapest k-cups like these 31 cent ones were like Great Value brand k-cups so all the way up to this is what we found Peet’s k-cups for so you know it’s still kind of that same variance although really you can find cheaper coffee per pound then you can find the k-cups the k-cups kind of keep it in this like kind of tight range that we found whereas bag can be really really cheap or you know all the way up to $12 pounds so anyway hope that helps we were surprised by how much you know of a variance there was especially with the k-cups so I hope you found that informative and we’ll see you next time

Peet's House Blend Coffee Review

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to coffee coffee coffee. This is your place for average Joe coffee reviews and today we’re talking about Pete. No we’re talking we’re talking about Mr. Pete. Mr. Pete and his coffee yes actually Pete’s coffee and tea is what their business name is, but… Tell us about him. Yeah so we’re reviewing the house blend which is supposed to be bright and balanced and it’s a deep roast which I assume means dark roast. Yeah. But all these coffee companies have different ways of saying things so. Yeah it was talking about cost $8.98 for a 12 ounce bag. Yeah, which is $12 a pound so this is basically almost almost as expensive as you know like a something you would get from you know a regular like a local roaster. Right. So that’s something to bear in mind when comparing quality. Yes let’s see this bag says to use two tablespoons mm-hmm instead of the usually it says rounded so. So not only is it pricey it also says to use twice as much as the other one even even those like the Sweetwater organics only said one tablespoon and this says two so it says we’re gonna charge you more and you have to use more. Right yeah and that’s another thing too is we’ve noticed with some of the coffees we don’t like as much that if you will double it to two tablespoons it usually helps the flavor along so that’s a tip. Like if you if there’s a coffee that you buy that you don’t really like.. Right. A lot just try doubling the amount of coffee you might find that you enjoy that flavor better so. Mm-hmm that’s true. So we tried it several different ways one tablespoon per six fluid ounce cup two tablespoons per six fluid ounce cup one and a half tablespoons per six fluid ounce cup heaping tablespoon per 6 fluid ounce cup. And this one is a heaping so we’ll try it and let you know what we like. We’ve done the others already. Well I gotta say I do like this coffee. It’s good. It’s consistently good. Yeah this is the best way one heaping tablespoon per six fluid ounce cup is the best way. Yeah. But that still makes it you know if you’re talking about $12 for a pound still pretty pricey cup for at home brewing. Yeah it’s fairly expensive so so it’s like a treat coffee. Yeah. I would say but… Pete’s treats. Yeah your mom I think this is her favorite coffee is Pete’s. Yeah. Maybe not this particular blend but I see why she likes it so much cause I’ve really enjoyed all the Peet’s that I’ve had at her house over the years. Yeah and sometimes you can get it on sale buy one get one free at Publix or Kroger or Albertsons or wherever you may be that sells fine quality coffees. Yeah. I doubt Dollar Tree has it. They do but the bag is it’s a it’s a k-cup size. Right so overall would we buy it again. I think if the price were right yes. I don’t want to I don’t want to pay three times as much or twice as much you know right for a cup of coffee that’s just as good maybe a little better than Seattle’s best signature blend number four I don’t know. I think it’s a couple of steps up from that but I don’t know. I really like one. Yeah it was really good but but yeah I really like this one. I like Pete’s. I’m a peetnik. That’s what they call people that like Peet’s. Probably because it comes from California. Right. Berkeley, California. The… It was founded in Berkeley California yeah not like we’re randomly mentioning Berkeley. Right no, but the the flavor is it I don’t know that there’s any sort of a hint of anything that we…. I’d like to come up with something so that we can tag it that way on our review site at coffee coffee coffee show.com but I don’t know. I think maybe a little bit of nuttiness or chocolaty just yeah. Maybe. Yeah we tend to like the coffees better that are a little chocolaty or maybe caramel or something like that. But not the verdant and the herb-y. Right. beep beep Herby. Oh. That’s not how you say it yeah but so yeah okay. So if you have any other coffees that you would like for us to review you can send us a message on Facebook Instagram or YouTube you can put it down there in the little thing comment and we will reply with our address and a purchase order. Lavazza Perfetto Espresso Roast Coffee Review

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Ciao welcome to coffee coffee coffee. Today is a day of coffee. There you go. Ss there any other day of not coffee? No. Every day is coffee day. So this is your place for average Joe coffee reviews and today we are reviewing a coffee. Lavazza Perfetto Espresso Roast So it’s not espresso powder. Just to get that out of the way. This is an espresso roast. Right. So it’s ground coffee 100% Arabica. Made well actually yeah made in Torino Italy but the beans are not from Torino. They’re from somewhere. Somewhere else if we find out if we find out we’ll put that on the website. Yeah it doesn’t say where they get the beans from but yeah. So it’s supposed to have a dark and velvety taste. It says that it should have lingering caramel notes. Mm-hmm. I will say we love Lavazza coffee in general. Yeah. But we’ve had it before we really love it. The smell. Yeah it’s magical but the question is do we really like it? Because what we’ve noticed is as we’ve been doing these these reviews we started to notice different things in coffee so it’s like sometimes those things that we maybe didn’t notice before or didn’t think about before and now we do so. Played with our palates a little bit I think. So. Our mouth emotions. Yeah okay so. Let’s try it. Well do we want to talk about price first? Yeah. You bought it. I did buy it. It was about six dollars and for 28 cents I think $6.28? I think because the total bill was like 12 98. So $6.40 there you go $6.40 a bag for a 12 ounce bag. Not bad. Not bad. For Lavazza. Yes. It’s supposed to be Italy’s favorite coffee. Mm-hmm but I have asked a couple of Italians and they said it is one of the favorites but maybe not the favorite. Right yeah. I have a yeah I have a thought that in Italy they have Folgers and it says America’s favorite coffee. Right okay would you like to taste it? Try it all right. Hopefully the camera stayed focused on us. Or else we might have to drink more coffee later. I do like the smell of the I actually like the smell of the coffee grounds better than the coffee when it’s made. In general or just this cup? This cup. Yeah yeah. Okay so what are your thoughts? I need to get a mug that doesn’t transfer heat outside of the this part. If you know of one.. Yeah…. buy it for me and send it to care of… I’m drinking. Okay well I’ll give my thoughts first since you seem to be hesitant. Over all I like it. It’s not my absolute favorite. Right. We wanted to get Gran Selezionne. Which is, we think our current favorite coffee in general but they didn’t have it at Publix and there was no spot for it at Publix either. Normally there is and now I’m kind of afraid, what if they’re not carrying it anymore? So we’ll see but that’s a different worry for a different day. Yeah I like it. I can taste the caramel at the end of it like after I like as a as a lingering taste aftertaste. Oh it does say lingering doesn’t it? Yeah kind of as an aftertaste not so much when I’m drinking it like it’s like mmm caramel. He has such a refined palate because I don’t get any caramel. I was thinking um. I probably have a psychological palate. Cuz you read the stuff beforehand? Yes. Uh like I think I kind of picked up on maybe a little smoky flavor. I didn’t get caramel but kind of smoky. Which is kind of I mean caramel kind of does have that you know caramelization is almost burning something so yeah right on the edge. So anyway would we buy it again? that’s the question. I have my answer. I would say yes. Yeah if you know prices are the same and whatnot we have other coffees that are less expensive but if it’s not available okay there are some coffees we would avoid and not buy regardless of if it was like $2 or something. Right. But yeah. Yeah I would definitely buy it again and this one is actually slightly lighter in roast than the Gran Selezionne which we thought differently before. And they’ve got one more past this which is Intenso, which I’ve never seen before but maybe we can find it. Yeah I haven’t seen it in the place either. Yeah maybe the bag is on fire and that’s why you can’t find it. I don’t know. It’s intense. I hope it’s not on fire. It’s still roasting yeah that’s why you can never find it. It’s not available yet. All right I think that about does it for this episode. Yes so if you have any questions for us about coffee. We don’t have a lot of answers… Go ahead. Yeah I was gonna say we are gonna do a coffee a show about the price of coffee and like how that affects your budget like… Are you busting your budget with coffee? Right. I’ve got it almost in the can. Maybe we’ll surprise you about how much you’re spending or how little you’re spending on at home brewing especially in comparison to buying it somewhere else. I’m gonna break it down. Break it down WikiWiki So reach out to us on Facebook Instagram YouTube go to our website coffee coffee coffee show.com and find out more information on our coffee table which outlines all of our reviews and shows you what we paid for each one where it comes from what the flavor hint is and whether or not we would buy it again. There you go. Okay bye. See ya.

Seattle's Best Portside Blend Coffee Review

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to coffee coffee coffee. This is the day that we review a new coffee. Like every other day but this one is special. Why is it special? All coffee is special, but some of them are special bad and some of them are special good. We’ll find out how this coffee ranks up. There you go. What is it we are reviewing today? We’re reviewing Seattle’s Best Portside Blend which is number three so again the branding change back and forth. You still may see the older branding but this is one of the newer branding ones. So it’s supposed to be a medium roast smooth roasted. That we saw that on the previous bag and it supposed to be like a medium just a medium roast. It’s slightly darker than the the breakfast blend that we tried so. Very cool and I noticed Portside Blend… I don’t know if you can tell on the labeling it’s like stenciled. Yeah. The letters. Like it came from the port. Yeah. Did you know…. just fun fact here cause I looked it up just now. Seattle is really not the rainiest city in America. What is? And would you believe it’s not even in the top ten? I know. Well actually you know there are a couple of different ways you can look at raininess. Right. So one way is how much rain they get and they’re not even in the top ten for that. Right. New Orleans actually is number one in that and then the in like rainy days, that’s really where it’s like it’s rankings but it’s like number five. Oh wow. Uh Rochester, New York was number one. Interesting. Yeah. Never would have thought. I mean I heard that Seattle is just kind of dreary and stuff. Yeah. Maybe that’s why they’re all happy over there. Okay. All right are you ready to drink this coffee? Should we talk about price? Yeah $4.49. $4.49? $4.49. Wow! what a great deal! Or is it? Great deal. Let’s try it to find out see what we want to do about it. You can probably hear a beeping. There’s something backing apparently a truck backing up somewhere. Yeah but that’s okay. It sounds like we’re at the port. A barge is coming in the way. I don’t know. Okay so I have opinions about this coffee. Do you have opinions? I I taste some sort of herby-ness or something I mean I know there’s a lot of different herbs, but. All I can taste is bitterness like it’s just bitter. It is a bitter coffee and I just…I don’t enjoy it at all. Quite frankly. It’s like it’s just I know of no other way to put it but it’s just bitter and bitter. Yeah but I don’t know like I’m trying to pick a flavor though that’s in there. There’s bitter but what is the flavor? To me, the bitterness is so strong that… Maybe it’s like a tobacco-y. The bitterness is strong in this one. I’ve never I’ve never smoked but I don’t know. It tastes like I mentioned tobacco taste. If you were to melt it..or uh not melt it… liquefy it. Wow we’re so good at tobacco. Liquefy it and drink it. That’s disgusting. Liquefy it? Yeah no. I don’t know yeah yeah I didn’t even get any kind of herby-ness or anything I just like I can’t get past the bitterness. Yeah. It’s pretty over powering. Well the bottom line is we wouldn’t buy it again even though it’s cheap. Yeah sometimes cheap means not so good. Yeah. Like we love the other…the other blend. Yeah Signature Blend Number Four yeah. Organic. Free Trade. That did make a difference actually… but. It’s Fair Trade but yes. Oh what did I say? Free trade. Oh yeah that’s different. That’s NAFTA. Yeah. I don’t really know. Anyway so this one is a loser. Let’s uh let’s hear from you which coffees would you like for us to try? Yeah let us know we’ll we’ll think about reviewing them depending on if we can get a hold of some or not. We did have some good suggestions so far so we’re going to check some of those out. Yes. Thanks keep them coming. Yes so also you can find us on Facebook Instagram and YouTube and our website coffee coffee coffee show.com. Look us up that way and uh. Is that it? Yep. That’s it. We love you all, but not this coffee.

Seattle's Best House Blend Coffee Review

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to coffee coffee coffee. Your place for average Joe coffee reviews. Today’s a little rainy outside, it’s a nice day for coffee and today we are reviewing what? Seattle’s Best. Apropos. Since it’s so rainy outside. Right and this is the full and balanced House Blend which is a medium roast. It’s supposed to be smooth roasted. Don’t really know what it means really. Like Miles Davis. It doesn’t really give you much information on the packaging either it just kind of says it smooth… It doesn’t really give you any kind of origin really. It says Latin American beans but you know. And yeah Arabica. Right. As the usual. Right. Like everything that we’ve reviewed so far is Arabica. It’s fun to say. So did you have any thoughts of the sniffer test? Yeah like I did this already. sniffer. I mean I’m not it’s not like one of those that I really just drink it in through my nostrils. Right I wouldn’t consume it after that. It sounds like it would be pretty dangerous. Yeah. Okay um it was $5.49 a bag for a 12 ounce bag,so that’s not per pound that’s per 12 ounce bag. Right like eight dollars a pound. And so you ready to taste it? Yeah let’s see. Hot cup again. So I want to know it because we haven’t discussed this coffee… I want to know your thoughts before I tell you my thoughts. It’s not as good as Seattle’s Best Signature Blend Number Four. No. The organic. Yeah and quite frankly I don’t like this coffee. Like I I thought it had a beannie taste. Did you pick up on any beanniness? Yep. Yeah and I just don’t like the beanie, which again this whole experience this experience has been really informative like all the reviews we’ve done so far… I used to think like when we would have like a cup of coffee, I wasn’t paying attention to what like what roasts we were buying, we would just try out different coffees and then I would assume oh I hate that you know that brand because I don’t you know whatever. But really it’s more about the roast. Like there have been certain like Seattle’s Best I really enjoyed the number four. I don’t enjoy this roast. So it’s not so much the brand as it is the specific roast within the brand so. Mm-hmm. Very much so, I’ve learned that too and what’s really helping us though is so far to date the cheapest coffee was the Seattle’s Best… well all of them but Signature Blend Number Four and I think it’s been one that we both could just drink whenever. Yeah yeah that’s one we agreed on. But not this one. Yeah I’m a pass… Hard hard pass. Would we buy it again? Hard pass. Yeah yeah. Yeah anything else to say about it other than? No no… and it’s gone the other way for us to whereas like with Lavazza we love their Gran Selezionne, but really dislike their Kilimanjaro… so it’s the other like the higher priced brands too. So never judge a …. but I don’t know how to say it. I was going to try to come up with something off the top of my head, but By its price tag. Yeah never judge the coffee by it’s price tag either way. Just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s good and just because it’s cheap doesn’t mean it’s bad. That’s true. And just because you like one roast doesn’t mean you’re going to like all of those by the same brand. Right yeah so if you have other coffees that you’d like for us to try, you can find us on Facebook Instagram and YouTube and also our website at coffee coffee coffee show.com. And coincidentally that’s how you’ll find us on the social media networks too is coffee coffee coffee show. Okay I understand now. So ship the coffee to P.O. Box… No no we don’t have a P.O. Box. I was just kidding. Just contact us and let us know what you’d like us to try and we’ll see if we can get a hold of some and give it a whirl. Yep. Ernest P. Worrell. No one knows who that is anymore. I know it’s sadly. Ernest Goes to Camp! Check it out. Or to jail.
